Of all the toys

Our boys are not one to want. They have a toy box in practically every room full of practically every toy imaginable. And lately there have been quite a few talks about "sharing" as Zachary looks up to his big bro and often wants whatever it is that Adam has.

So, I wasn't too surprised when I heard commotion and arguing coming from the kitchen. However, amongst all the toys to fight over... this is what the argument was about--

Yep! An empty wrapping paper roll.

I asked why Adam wanted it so bad... his response...

"It's my Aggie Band! It's like Uncle Kason."

So there they were arguing over a cardboard tube, Adam all dressed up in his Aggie hat and boots. Both not willing to let go of the precious "bugle".

Well- Adam eventually won this round! But I'm sure there will be others.

FYI: To avoid future arguments over "bugles" we now collect empty cardboard tubes of every shape and size. We are willing to accept donations of this precious commodity and toy!

A little of this... and some of that

Joe's picture of the butterfly he saw on my car one day! Another friend from heaven come to see us.

Some pics of the kiddos on Eid--

Some fun times at the place I detest... Chuckie Cheese. Personally, I find the place annoying and disgusting but the kids had fun at the party for one of their little friends.

Can you see how filthy his shirt is? Can you believe I allowed him out in public like such? Joe asked if I had brought him a clean one, but I figure-- what the heck? They're just going to get dirty at some point anyway and it shows that they are having fun.

Joe's car was kept in the shop for an extra day when they took longer than imagined to complete a tune-up. They gave him a rental car for the evening and Adam was playing in it and opening all the compartments. He opened one and shouted- a phone. To which we replied: yes, that is where you can put your phone. He shouted- no, I found a phone. And he had. We called the number on the cell phone and the next day Joe returned the phone to a VERY relieved lady who had been searching everywhere for it. She got Adam a little treat and we used the opportunity to talk to him about the importance of kindness. Not sure how much he understood---
But he was excited to show me his little present!

Blessings have been bountiful this fall!

Stay tuned-- we went to an awesome farm and picked some pumpkins a couple weeks ago. I'll try to share some of the fun from the trip soon.

Meet Brown

Has it really been a month since I last posted?!? I'll try to catch up with a few of the exciting things we have been up to lately.

First of all, we have a new addition to the family. Please meet our dear friend Brown!

Mommy and Adam went out one day together and I decided to stop by the pet store with him. The result... a beta fish. Adam was so excited.

Zachary observing the action in his fish shirt.

Learning how to take care of his fish.

We asked what Adam was going to name his fish. At first he told Daddy that he wanted to name him "Yellow". But then when I asked what his fish's name was he said... "Brown" and stuck with that name from then on. Not quite sure why he decided on that name, especially considering the fish is actually blue. But I'm not complaining- I think "Brown" is a little better of a name than "Yellow"! :)
